Foundation Stone laid for the new Computing Center in Mannheim

As tradition dictates, the concrete slab was sealed with three hammer blows on March 14 and the foundation stone was laid. For Mannheim's building mayor Ralf Eisenhauer, the construction of the new IT and Computing Center for the University of Mannheim is an important piece of city repair. In his speech, Tobias Wulf also referres to the hybrid timber construction and the pioneering solar façade. The first floor of the new four-storey building in a prominent urban location will be open to the public. Two inner courtyards will ensure that bright rooms are created despite the depth of the building.
