Vier-Burgen-Steg in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen

The pedestrian and bicycle footbridge across the Neckar River, planned in cooperation with Mayr Ludescher Partner, connects the districts of Mühlhausen and Hofen. It also makes the sports facilities more accessible and is a connection to the regional bicycle tracks.

The surrounding context is defined by the urban side (Mühlhausen) and the landscape situation on the other side. The bridge aims to mediate and connect the two sides dialectically. The footbridge is constructed as a self-anchored tied-arch bridge with laterally arranged suspension systems. The formal axiom of the arch in its classical bridge metaphor underlines the routing to both sides.
