Congress Center New Trade Fair in Stuttgart

At the eastern end of the fairgrounds, there is the Congress Center, directly next to Messepiazza. As a special structure, it distinguishes itself from the fair halls with its flat roof and its cubic structure. The congress centre is the communication and event centre of the Landesmesse and offers ten seminar rooms and workshop rooms, an exhibition hall (5,000 m²) and a restaurant. The cube is glazed towards the Messepiazza, and has a wide projecting canopy. The transparent façade lets plenty of daylight into the interior, the exhibition square is thus brought right up to the wall.

The design approach for the new trade fair is determined by minimum land use, short distances and an innovative appearance with distinctive characteristics. The design follows not only functional requirements, but also higher-level criteria pertaining to the landscape and the perception of space. With their draped roof forms and generously glazed facades, the exhibition halls strengthen the relationship to the surrounding landscape and enhance the desired distinctiveness.
